Dedicated to the memory of Roger Duffield

This site is a tribute to Roger George Duffield.

Beloved Husband of Helen, The most Amazing Hero of a Father to Carla, Father in law/Mentor to Craig, devoted Grandad to Daisy, Sydney & Henry.

Roger was just about the loveliest man you could ever meet, an absolute legend, a diamond geezer, an absolute rock to us & to have him taken away from us so suddenly from a heart attack out of the blue seems just so unfair. But rather than dwell on all the things we still meant to do, lets be thankful for the time we had & the memories we will always keep.

If you needed something, from work that needed doing, to fixing anything that needed mending, to making you feel better when you were down, or just needed some advice he always had the answer, and could always resolve any problem.

He was the most generous man you could ever know... always the first one at the bar, or sneaking off to pay the bill at a restaurant when he was supposed to be going to the loo, nothing was ever to much trouble.

He would do absolutely do anything for anyone, he would never see the bad in any situation he would just find an answer & fix things no matter what or how bad they were.

He will be so greatly missed by his family, there is a huge gap that can never be replaced by his sudden & untimely death, but at least we can take some comfort in the fact that if there was a way to go he would've chosen this way over old age & the awful things that may have happened. He always said "if that ever happens to me, please shoot me" so at least we never had the dilemma of how to deal with that situation.

There will be no funeral for Roger, as he wanted a direct cremation, he didn't want people standing around being sad.

We will therefore respect his wishes and have created this page for those of you who would like to pay their respects, pop on a comment of how you remember him & the good times you shared. He will be cremated on Tuesday 1st March, so if you would like to celebrate his life with a cheeky Guinness or a glass of red, watch some only fools & horses or have a Chinese, we are sure he would love that.

Roger supported the Anthony Nolan charity for people with blood cancer, if you would like to make a donation in his memory it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Helen, Carla, Craig, Daisy, Sydney & Henry x
